Cockpit (Command Center)

The Cockpit is the primary landing page after login — your Orbit Command Center. It provides an at-a-glance overview of your workspace with AI-powered search, quick-access module tiles, live analytics, and pending approval queues.

Where to find it

Navigation: The Cockpit loads automatically after login. You can always return to it by clicking the logo or navigating to /cockpit. Legacy URL: /dashboard automatically redirects to /cockpit.

Screen walkthrough

The Cockpit is composed of several distinct sections, arranged vertically:

1. Hero greeting

A personalized heading — "Orbit Command Center" — with the subtitle "Universal Enterprise Platform". This area establishes the visual identity of the workspace.

2. Intelligence Bar

A prominent, centrally positioned AI-powered search and command bar. Use it to:

  • Search across modules, documents, tickets, tasks, and more
  • Issue natural-language commands
  • Access AI-powered insights and suggestions

3. Core Engine Strip

A horizontal row of capability shortcuts providing one-click access to the platform's core engines — calendars, projects, analytics, and configuration.

4. Bento Grid (Module Mosaic)

A responsive mosaic of module tiles. Each tile represents a major Orbit module (e.g. Resolve, Ops, Pulse, Storefront) with contextual metrics, quick actions, and status indicators. The tiles shown depend on your organization's subscribed packages and your role's permissions.

5. Service Catalog Approvals

A full-width section showing pending service request approvals that need your attention. Visible only if you hold the org.servicedesk.requests.approve permission.

6. Expense Approvals

A full-width section showing pending expense approvals. Visible only if you hold the org.expense.approve or org.me.expense.myexpense permission.

7. Floating Dock

A floating navigation dock on the right side of the screen for quick module switching without returning to the sidebar.

8. Live Pulse Analytics

A fixed analytics strip at the bottom of the viewport showing real-time platform metrics and activity indicators.

Permissions

The Cockpit itself requires only authentication (any logged-in user can see it). Individual sections within the Cockpit respect granular permissions:

FAQs & troubleshooting

Q: Why do I see fewer tiles than my colleague? A: Module tiles are filtered by your role's permissions and your organization's active module packages. Ask your admin to check your role assignments.

Q: Can I customize which tiles appear? A: The tile layout is determined by your organization's configuration and permissions. Custom dashboard layouts are not currently available.

Q: The Intelligence Bar shows no results. A: Ensure your search query is at least a few characters. The bar searches across all modules you have access to.
