First-Run Wizard

The First-Run Wizard appears immediately after a new organization is created through self-serve signup. It is a lightweight, three-step onboarding flow designed to orient the organization owner and get them to their first productive moment as quickly as possible.

Where to find it​

Route: /onboarding Triggered by: Completing the self-serve signup at /signup Authentication: Required — the wizard runs inside an authenticated session but without the standard dashboard chrome (sidebar, top bar).

The wizard is intentionally low-friction. No data entry is required at any step — every step can be skipped. The trial clock is already running and the goal is the first "aha moment", not a long configuration form.

Step-by-step walkthrough​

Step 1 — Welcome​

The wizard greets the user by first name and confirms that their workspace is live on a 15-day free trial with full access — no credit card needed.

  • Displays the organization name
  • Explains the trial terms
  • Continue advances to Step 2; Skip goes straight to the Cockpit

Step 2 — Invite your team​

Encourages the owner to invite teammates early, since most teams see value fastest when collaborating.

  • Provides an Invite teammates now button that navigates to Settings → Users (/org/users)
  • Reminder text: "You can invite teammates anytime from Settings → Users"
  • Continue advances to Step 3; Skip goes to the Cockpit

Step 3 — You're all set​

Confirms that the workspace is ready to explore and introduces the subscription upgrade path.

  • Provides a See plans button linking to /account/billing/upgrade
  • Explains that the trial includes everything — pick a plan when ready
  • Go to dashboard completes the wizard and navigates to the Cockpit

Q: Can I return to the wizard later? A: The wizard is shown only once — after signup. If you skip it, the guidance it provides (invite users, view plans) is available from the sidebar and settings menus at any time.

Q: What happens when the 15-day trial ends? A: Your workspace enters a restricted state. Navigate to Account → Billing (/account/billing) to pick a plan before the trial expires.
