Business website
What this page is — the Business section of Growth Settings: one field that records the web address of the business a project represents.
What it is for — telling Growth which website to read when it studies the business, so that discovery starts from the right site and not from a guess.
The problem it solves — a project has a name and a code, and neither says where its public website is. Until the address is recorded, the first row of the Growth checklist stays Pending and there is nothing for Growth to look at.

1. What the section holds
One card, Business website, with the line Growth reads this website to understand your business and to check how it shows up online. It contains one field and one button.

The address is a note to Growth. Saving it does not publish, redirect or verify anything.

Save an address
- Open Growth Settings and stay on Business.
- Check the project shown under Project.
- Type the address in Website address.
- Press Save, or press Enter.
A confirmation reads Saved — Website address saved. The field then shows the address exactly as it was stored, which may differ slightly from what you typed. See the next section.
Change an address
Type over it and press Save. There is no history; the new address replaces the old one.
Clear an address
Empty the field and press Save. The confirmation reads Saved — Website address cleared, and the checklist row on the cockpit returns to Pending.

What is accepted, and how it is tidied
The address is tidied when it is saved, and the field then shows the tidied form.

What is rejected
Every rejected address gives the same message, headed Could not save:
Enter a valid website address, for example https://www.example.com.

Nothing is stored when an address is rejected; the previously saved address stays as it was.
Saving checks the shape of the address and nothing else. An address that is well formed and wrong — a misspelt domain, a site that is offline — is accepted. Read it back before you leave the page.
5. One address per project
The address belongs to the project shown under Project in the rail. Switching project there reloads the field with that project's address, or leaves it empty if it has none.
- Two projects can hold the same address.
- A project can hold exactly one address. For a business with several sites, record the main one.
- If no project is selected, the section shows Select a project — Growth settings are kept per project. Choose a project from the project selector.

A user who may view Growth Settings and may not edit them sees the same card with three differences.

7. Why you would use it
Recording the address takes ten seconds and removes a whole class of later mistakes. Growth's first stage is about how the business shows up online, and that starts from a website. If it starts from the wrong one — the parent company's site when the project is a single branch, an old domain that now redirects — everything built on it describes a different business.
It also gives the rest of the team one agreed answer. The address appears on the cockpit's checklist row for anybody who opens it, so nobody needs to ask which site "the website" means for this project.
8. Worked example
Imran manages a project called Lakeside Bakery.
- He opens Growth Cockpit. The first checklist row reads Business website — Tell Growth which website to look at. — Pending.
- He follows Add website. Growth Settings opens on Business with an empty field.
- He types
Lakeside-Bakery.Example.com/shopand presses Enter. - The confirmation reads Website address saved and the field now shows
https://lakeside-bakery.example.com/shop: the prefix was added and the domain was put in lower case. - He presses Exit Growth Settings. The checklist row now shows the address, Done, and the link Change.
A week later the bakery moves its shop to the top of the site. Imran follows Change, removes
/shop, and saves. The row shows the shorter address straight away.
9. Before this works — what an administrator sets up

Nothing else in Optima Orbit reads this field. It does not change your storefront address, your landing page address or your custom domains.

12. Troubleshooting
